Most of Everything That Happened in April That I'm Still Not Over
Like Shedeur Sanders going in the fifth round?!
I finally moved to Charlotte after 14 years in New York. It was a huge life shift that still feels surreal. I’m starting to feel a bit settled, but I still can’t quite believe I’m no longer a New Yorker (especially now the the Knicks are playing well?!?).
I watched my daughter try to ride her bike for the very first time, filled with pure joy as she rolled and rolled down the hill. It was like magic.
I noticed fresh flowers on the table at Chick-fil-A, a tiny detail that unexpectedly brightened an ordinary day.
My daughter made her very first best friend here in Charlotte. It is incredible how quickly connections can form and how important those friendships become.
I had the shocking realization that outside New York, stores still hand out plastic bags like it is 2010. It was definitely culture shock in both the best and worst ways.
I ate the best strawberry ice cream I have ever had, a sweet treat that instantly became a new favorite.
We had lazy mornings with pancakes on the patio, lovingly made by my husband because I am terrible at pancakes. Honestly, I prefer waffles, but whatever gets him cooking in the kitchen, I am all for it.
I drove in the rain through unfamiliar streets and soaked in all the greenery and trees. Sometimes the journey itself teaches you more than the destination ever could.
I made the big decision to go back to school to become a mental health counselor! I am excited and nervous all at once about sharpening my skillset and pursuing a passion that truly matters to me.
Ok so this didn’t happen in April, but one of my favorite times of the year is when NFL teams release their schedule videos. This one was one of my favorites, let’s go, Ravens!
Congratulations I know going from the city to the country is a shock to the system! Your next write up should be about bojangles and the delicious boberry biscuit you will be hooked
