And just like that, I officially have 100 subscribers!
Why am I making such a big deal out of this? I’ll tell you why—because it is a big deal. I’ve made it a point to start celebrating myself more, especially when I can do it creatively. When I decided to launch this column on Substack, gaining subscribers was the last thing on my mind. Honestly, I created this space because I desperately needed a creative outlet after closing my nonprofit and quitting social media. Substack just felt like the perfect place for me to land.
So today I celebrate myself and I celebrate all 100 of you, because I will always have a soft spot for anyone who invests their time in my work. It means the world.
Part of this celebration included buying this giant, ridiculously fun ribbon with a big “100” on it, pinning it to my shirt, and strutting around the city. It was fantastic! Some people smiled or asked about it, but most didn’t even notice—because this is New York, and people are good at minding their own business.
The idea actually came from my younger sister, who once bought herself a trophy after running for 100 days straight. That got me thinking—why wait for someone else to celebrate me when I can just hop on Etsy and celebrate myself?

If you didn’t notice, almost all of the titles to my posts (with a few exceptions) come from song lyrics. If you're curious, I made a playlist with all the tracks—it’s a mix of the most random songs, and it doesn’t really flow, but whatever :) See if you can match which posts go with which songs on the playlist. I’ll help you get started: this article’s title comes from song number 5 👀

Write a fiction story
A few days ago, I shared my BIG future goals—dreams that have been on my heart for a long time. I figured putting them down on paper would be the push I need to start pursuing them.
What are some of your BIG dreams and goals for the future?
A little something new ✨
I’ve decided to update my Substack bio. Initially, it was “a column about nothing” because, honestly, there’s no specific theme—just a collection of random thoughts and feelings. But I thought it was time for a little refresh, something that captures the vibe a bit better. So now it reads:
Everyday Ribbons: A column fueled by overthinking and run-on sentences.
Doesn’t that sound better? I love it… though, let’s see how long this one lasts.
Now that I have an amazing army of subscribers—yay!—and a ribbon plug, I want to do something fun! I’m going to start giving out ribbons to all of you. Just imagine coming home to a big, beautiful ribbon waiting for you in your mailbox—how cool would that be? Here’s how you can earn one:
Invite someone to subscribe to Everyday Ribbons.
Yes, I want to grow my audience (that’s definitely part of it), but the more people who subscribe, the more options I’ll have for what’s next… ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
Tiny Talks is back, or should I say Tiny Talks 2.0! I really enjoyed hosting these conversations over Zoom during the pandemic, and I want to bring them back—this time right here on Substack. I want to interview cool, smart, bold, funny, amazing, people like you and publish it here on Everyday Ribbons. If you’d like to be featured, let me know! You’ll get a lovely piece written about you, plus a ribbon for your time!
Whole squad on that real ish! I just crossed this threshold too! Congratulations boo! Cheers to more celebrations of you 🧡! Thanks for the playlist too 😉
